Information Society S.A.
About the company
Information Society S.A. (InfoSoc S.A.) is a not-for-profit company owned by the Greek State operating in the public interest. It was founded in March 2001 to promote the 2000-2006 Information Society Operational Program and since then has been a key player in implementing and managing ICT systems and infrastructure for agencies in Greece’s public sector.
InfoSoc S.A.’s began hosting key IT systems and applications at its Data Center back in 2007. Since then it has hosted and efficiently run some of the Greek public administration’s most important systems and applications including the ERMIS web portal, the system that supports Citizen Service Centers (KEP), the Transparency Program known popularly as "DIAVGIA", the Prefectural Government Authorities’ IT systems for planning, health and welfare, industry and trade, as well as the Western Greece Healthcare IT System and the Ionian Islands Healthcare IT system, to name a few.
Its reliability, coupled with the excellent services provided by its highly trained staff, meant the entire venture was a great success, with just 2 days of down time for the hosted systems over a period of approximately 10 years of continuous operation, something hard to achieve even for the most advanced infrastructure hosts.
These points are just an indication of InfoSoc S.A.’s reliability, and have enabled it to safely move to the next level, which is: Operating the Government Cloud (G-Cloud) and providing public agencies with cloud services.
